How do bees produce wax?

The wax is secreted by worker bees. The sternites portions of their previous abdominal IV - VII shows by two surfaces oval, smooth, surrounded by bands of darker cuticle. These surfaces are mirrors Cerise: above them inside the abdomen are glands that produce wax, in fact areas of specialized epidermal cells. These glands are in their full development and manufacturing capacity bees aged 12-18 days. Before this age glands are not fully developed, and the older bees degenerates.

Freshly produced beeswax is a semi-liquid. Cerise mirror surface, the fluid solidifies relatively occurring form of hexagonal flakes, white (bright) with transparent, very small. Bees take belly scales using bazitarsele hairs on the hind legs. Foot wearing a flake or more is advanced to the jaw. They grab scales, place them between the maxine, who chew turning them into a paste malleable. The paste is used to comb the building, thus ensuring the maximum robustness of construction and space.

Secretion of wax
Secretion of wax is influenced by a number of factors, should take into account the temperature and nutrition. Regarding temperature, secretion occurs only at relatively high temperatures, between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius. Below this temperature glands are inactive, and on the other hand wax would not be able to maintain liquid. The second factor, nutrition, decisive influences. Bees to produce wax  must have primarily sugar or honey and also pollen.

It looks like bees wax is produced in the body in the same way that other animals produce fat in the body by converting sugars in a biochemical process. It is estimated that to produce one kg of wax, bees consume about 5 kg of sugar or about 6 kg of honey. Also it observed that bees are fed on pollen hardly produce wax, and if they are fed only with honey without pollen they will consume a larger amount of honey. So, without being the main factor that interferes with the secretion of wax, pollen is still very important, he is the one who brings nitrogen in the tissue regeneration wax protein absolutely necessary in producing wax.
